Heya! Thanks for taking a moment to learn more about me. I’m Joe Trevors, and I’m thrilled you’ve decided to peek into my corner of the internet, where we’re all about shaping the brain’s potential. My fascination with mental health and neuroplasticity isn’t just a professional interest, it’s deeply personal. You’re going to find out more about my own life-changing experiences that led me right to the heart of this incredible field below, so I invite you to please continue reading.
As I’d eluded to, my journey isn’t simply professional, nor is it just about academic study; it’s also about a journey that started with a ‘triple diagnosis’ I received on October 23, 2015. Not many can say that ADHD, OCD, and PTSD have been their greatest teachers, but for me, they were the catalysts that unleashed a voracious appetite for understanding the malleable nature of our minds. Through these challenges, I discovered neuroplasticity, and it wasn’t long before I was completely captivated by the power and resilience woven into our brain’s fabric.
My purpose here isn’t to overwhelm you with jargon, but to share a slice of my life that illuminates why neuroplasticity and mental health aren’t just topics I ponder—they’re the core of everything I do. As you scroll through PlasticityPortal, you’ll glimpse the insights and tools that have not only transformed my cognitive landscape but also hold the promise to revolutionize yours.
Now, let’s translate that passion into credentials. Don’t worry too much about me slipping into a bragging montage—think of the next part as an honest run-through of how my background equips me to guide and support you on your own neuroplasticity adventure.
Expertise Without the Ego
I’ve gathered a collection of titles and certifications in my journey through the realms of mental health and wellbeing, sure. I’m a Mindfulness ‘Master’ Practitioner, Level III Reiki Master (‘Shinpiden’), and I’ve trained as a Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy Practitioner. I’m also an NLP Practitioner, a trained NeuroChange Practitioner, Advanced Ho’oponopono Practitioner, and the list goes on.
And it doesn’t go in simply for purposes of “Ooooh, look at me!”. It truly doesn’t. I struggle to speak about myself at all, if honest.
These aren’t just badges of honour, either; they represent years of study, practice, and, most importantly, countless real-life applications that have tested and refined my understanding. Each qualification has added a new layer to my approach in helping people (and myself) embrace the transformative power of their/our own minds.
It’s not about boasting, but rather explaining the tools in my kit—so you can trust that when I speak about neuroplasticity and mental health, it’s with both knowledge and experience in tow. I’ve dedicated myself to exploring the depths of the mind (as we continue to explore, professionally, over at Abundant Mind), and have come out the other side with insights I’m eager to share with you.
Whether there, here, or even at our functional clinic (ENERGIA VITA | The Trevors Clinic for Functional Health), I approach each conversation, each session, and each piece of advice with a blend of humility and expertise. In my opinion, the balance between knowing a lot and recognizing there’s always more to learn is crucial. This journey isn’t just mine; I’m here to help you navigate your own path to mental wellness and resilience.
And that leads us right into the mission at the heart of PlasticityPortal. I founded this additional platform not just as a space for sharing what I might think that I know (and more so what others have studied and published for our benefit), but as a community where we can all grow together, learn from each other, and foster our collective neuroplastic potential.
The Mission of PlasticityPortal
Since you’re here, I’d love to give you a peek into what drives PlasticityPortal. It’s my digital space for sharing everything about the brain’s incredible ability to change and adapt. I’m obsessed with the power of neuroplasticity, and I want to share that with you.
Think of PlasticityPortal as a meeting point where cutting-edge science meets practical, everyday applications. From thought-provoking articles to hands-on trainings and resources, the goal is to empower you with knowledge and techniques to harness your brain’s potential.
I pour my heart into creating content that is not only informative but also actionable. You see, it’s one thing to know about the brain’s capabilities, and it’s another to actually put that understanding into practice. That’s why PlasticityPortal is more than a website; it’s a companion on your journey to a healthier, more resilient mind.
In my mind, the mission is clear: to demystify mental health and make the principles of neuroplasticity accessible to everyone. Whether you’re just curious about the brain or you’re looking for ways to manage stress, anxiety, or any other mental health challenge, you’re in the right place.
And as we explore these ideas together, we’re building a community. A network of individuals just like you, who are all seeking ways to improve their mental health and embrace the life-altering benefits of neuroplasticity. So stay curious, engaged, and ready to learn.
Building a Network of Change
Here’s where things get really interesting. PlasticityPortal isn’t a standalone project. I’m the kind of guy who believes in the power of synergy, which is why I founded DENNER Media (including a recent brand launch; ProsperPixels) and Abundant Mind, and why I’m proud to lead ‘The Trevors Clinic for Functional Health’, also known as ENERGIA VITA (please feel free to click that link in order to find us on Facebook).
I see these endeavours as interconnected pieces of a larger puzzle. DENNER Media is all about crafting compelling content that reaches out and touches lives – helping others tell THEIR stories, while Abundant Mind focuses on unleashing the potential of the human psyche. ENERGIA VITA, on the other hand, is where science meets wellness, providing tailored health solutions including genomic testing and analysis in health.
I’m a ‘serial entrepreneur’ at heart, but each startup, each company has always been more than just a business to me. It’s a vehicle for lasting transformation as I move into this ‘2nd Chapter’ (or 12th chapter, some may say about me! LOL!). I started these ventures not just to succeed in the traditional sense but to build something that contributes meaningfully to mental health and neuroplasticity, and which others may eventually take (or take away from) and do other, even more monumental things with in helping society and culture.
I’m here to pull the curtain back on mental health, to remove stigma, and to foster a community where knowledge is power and growth is always possible. Through each of these platforms, I strive to offer tools that empower you to shape your own mind and thereby your reality.
Ultimately, the impact we make can extend beyond individual betterment; it has the potential to create ripples across families, communities, and society at large. That’s a vision worth striving for – a more mindful world, aware of the incredible adaptability of the human brain.
